“The trade turnover between Russia and the UAE in 2022 increased by 68% to $9 billion. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov at the sidelines of the IDEX 2023 international defense exhibition in Abu Dhabi. According to Manturov, exports from Russia to the UAE amounted to $8.5 billion (+71%), while imports were $500 million (+6%).
“”The partnership between our countries is developing steadily, and this positive trend is reflected in the statistics of Russian-Emirati trade. According to our data, in 2022 the trade turnover between Russia and the UAE increased by 68% to $9 billion. This is a record level in the history of relations between our countries. […] The UAE has retained its first place among the Arab countries in terms of trade turnover with the Russian Federation,”” he said.
As previously reported, the trade turnover between Moscow and the United Arab Emirates in 2021 exceeded $1.1 billion, which is 116% higher than the figures for 2020. At the same time, the total trade turnover between Russia and the UAE for 2021 amounted to $5.36 billion, which is 64.5% higher than in 2020.
The IDEX 2023 international arms exhibition is being held in Abu Dhabi from February 20 to 24. The joint Russian exposition is located in a separate pavilion, where leading enterprises of the Russian defense industry present more than 200 actual samples of weapons and military equipment, ammunition and equipment.
