“The transport and logistics digitalization market is expected to grow sevenfold by 2030, with demand for digital technologies in the transportation sector potentially reaching 626.6 billion rubles, compared to 89.4 billion rubles in 2020, according to experts at the Higher School of Economics. Russian companies are already introducing their developments to foreign markets in line with this trend.
The transport sector, both globally and nationally, is expected to grow exponentially by 2030, thanks to the implementation of digital technologies and the development of telecommunications systems, says Sergey Gataullin, a leading researcher at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
Innovative Russian transport technologies are already popular abroad. Despite sanctions from Europe, the US, and some other countries, our systems are still in demand because there are no alternatives, according to market participants interviewed by the “”Rossiyskaya Gazeta”” newspaper. Among the Russian transport developments used abroad are systems for photo and video traffic violation detection, as well as automatic weight and size control systems, according to the Digital Era of Transport Association.
Foreign countries are not ready to abandon Russian technologies, as finding alternatives on the global market is not always possible. For example, a mobile hardware and software complex for detecting traffic violations, called the “”beam,”” which is installed on the roof of a patrol car, is actively used by the local police department in Kazakhstan and can efficiently conduct operational search measures, according to the association. A post for automatic weight and size control of freight transport developed by a Russian corporation is already collecting statistics on violations on Indonesian roads. This system will help the country’s authorities successfully implement a national program to combat overloaded trucks.
In addition to this, traffic flow detectors of domestic production are installed on the roads of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Australia, and Latin America. The wide range of models supplied to other countries allows detectors to be used in projects that solve various tasks, such as controlling intersections, controlling highways and traffic rules. Detectors from another Russian company are installed on a unique mobile complex for traffic violation monitoring, precisely for detecting violations.
The market for digital technologies in the transport sector in Russia is expected to reach 626.6 billion rubles by 2030.
Recently, the Russian company “”Telematics,”” which deals with intelligent transport systems, won a tender to create a system for electronic collection of fees from freight transport and weight and size control in Kyrgyzstan. The company Cognitive Pilot supplies agricultural pilots based on artificial intelligence to twelve countries, including the USA, Mexico, Italy, Spain, and Belgium – devices that are installed on combines. In addition, a project is being implemented jointly with a transport infrastructure operator in China to create a computer vision system based on artificial intelligence technologies for urban trams with the ability for autonomous control and movement. The system is currently undergoing testing and will be used in Shanghai. A similar product is also being prepared for the city of Qingdao, said Ilya Shkabara, the deputy general director of the company, to “”RG”” newspaper.
