“As part of the implementation of measures to enhance the economic sustainability of the Eurasian Economic Union member states, the Eurasian Economic Commission Council expanded the list of goods for which customs operations are carried out on a priority basis on July 15th.
Prioritization was previously applied only to certain categories of goods listed in the Eurasian Economic Union Customs Code.
The additional list includes meal and other solid residues obtained from the extraction of vegetable oils and fats, dextrins and other modified starches, diagnostic reagents, and fat emulsifiers.
In addition to prioritization for customs operations, those who import these categories of goods into the Eurasian Economic Union will have the option of releasing goods before submitting a customs declaration. This effectively provides a zero-interest payment deferral for customs duties until the 10th day of the following month.
These goods have wide applications in the food and other industrial sectors, with some being valuable animal feed and used as fertilizer, while others are used in medical, veterinary, scientific, or production laboratories and hospitals.
The implementation of the anti-crisis package with a focus on supporting businesses by expanding the range of goods for which customs operations are carried out on a priority basis helps to ensure the stability of the operations of production and other enterprises in the Eurasian Economic Union countries.
