“The main goal of the agreement is to create organizational and legal foundations for protecting competition to ensure the free movement of goods, works, and services, and fair treatment of all market participants in the member states of the Union State. The document requires the authorities of the two countries to prevent any manifestations of monopolism and apply antitrust legislation to companies from the Union State on equal terms.
The agreement will contribute to the harmonization of antitrust legislation between Russia and Belarus.
The work is being carried out as part of the implementation of 28 union programs approved by the Decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State dated November 4, 2021.
“”The agreement aims to form unified predictable rules for doing business in the territories of the two countries, based on which the rights and interests of entrepreneurs and consumers of Russia and Belarus will be protected,”” noted Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk.
